2017 Youth Nature Inspiration Award

I won the Youth Nature Inspiration Award from the Nature Museum in Ottawa! I got to spend a few days exploring Ottawa and the AMAZING Canadian Museum of Nature. Thank you to the Canadian Museum of Nature for this great experience. The award money I won is going toward training other kids in Nova Scotia to test their own waterways.
I won the Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes

The Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes celebrates inspiring, public-spirited young people from diverse backgrounds all across North America. Established in 2001 by author T.A. Barron, the Barron Prize annually honors 25 outstanding young leaders ages 8 to 18 who have made a significant positive impact on people, their communities, and the environment.
I Won A Silver Medal at the Canada Wide Science Fair

I was part of Team Nova Scotia for the National Science Fair. I spent a week in Regina, Saskatchewan with a wonderful group of new friends. It was a week I will never forget. I even won a silver medal there!
A special thank you to the South Shore Regional School Board. I was proud to represent my school board at this national event. Also, to Jane Berrigan and Chad Frittenberg for being great chaperones. Thanks! :)

I am one of Canada's Top 25 Environmentalists Under 25 from Starfish Canada! This is a very great honour. Thank you Starfish Canada! I am hoping more and more attention to my project will help me bring positive change and cleanup to my river, and beyond.

Stella understood there was a simple solution to the problem of raw sewage contaminating the LaHave River. If the province enacted legislation to require a septic system be installed when a property changes hands, the straight pipes would eventually go away. But the 13-year-old environmentalist learned a lesson about political inertia instead.
