Last year my science fair project concluded that the LaHave River was unsafe to swim in because of extremely high fecal bacteria counts.  My project sparked a lot of attention.  A 17 million dollar program to rid the river of straight pipes will begin very soon, hopefully.  We are still waiting for the federal funding to be announced.

This year, I looked at possible other causes of high Enterococci levels.  Are straight pipes the only culprit?  Could there be other factors contributing to the LaHave River's extremely high amounts of fecal contamination?
